You might be familiar with chocolate sprinkles as a topping for cakes and desserts. But they were invented by Venz as a bread topping as early as 1936. The Dutch have been using Venz chocolate sprinkles as a bread topping ever since. No suprise that every Dutch child knows Venz chocolate sprinkles or hailstones as they are called. If and only if the cacao share is minimum 24% sprinkles may be reffered to as chocolate sprinkles. Besides that, chocolate creams have to be smeared over a slice of bread, sticking to the knife, which is inconvenient, especially for children. Venz chocolate sprinkles scatter like hailstones on a slice of bread. Only a thin layer of butter is needed to let them stick to the surface.
